COVID-19 UPDATE

We are happy to announce, in response to the recent updated guidance from Governor Abbott and state medical authorities, we are cautiously opening our office for office visits starting Monday April 27, 2020.

We are following federal, state and local guidelines and taking extra precautions to ensure the safety and health of our patients and staff. Please note: ALL PATIENTS MUST BRING HIS/HER OWN FACE COVERING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT: (According to city regulations, approved coverings include a cloth mask, scarf, bandana or other similar items that cover the nose and mouth).

When necessary one caregiver or one guardian will be allowed at the appointment with the patient. Otherwise please do not bring any family or friends with you.

Upon arriving for your appointment, your temperature will be checked. After Check in, you will be able to wait in the designated seating areas in the waiting room with 6 ft social distancing. You may wait in your vehicle until you are called back for your appointment.

If, on the day of your appointment or within 14 days of your appointment, you have a fever, new or worsening cough or have been in contact with someone with these symptoms or with known or suspected Coronavirus (Covid-19), we would ask that you do not come into the office. We can reschedule you or convert to a telemedicine visit if appropriate. Please let us know if emergent as we can make various arrangements that will not put others at risk.

Office staff have their temperatures checked every morning upon arrival to the clinic. We continue to provide enhanced office sanitation routines, wear required face coverings, and execute excellent hand hygiene.

As always it is an honor and privilege to provide your eye care.

Jay M. Rubin, M.D.
